Räikkönen: “It won’t be easy to improve”

Kimi Räikkönen made a brilliant comeback in F1 with Lotus F1 Team since the 2007 world champion took third place in the Championship with a victory on the clock at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Iceman was satisfied with the performance of the E20 after a lackluster 2011 season for enstone. The Finn is now waiting to take the wheel of the new E21 and start a new season with the British team. “We will all be starting from scratch but it should be easier because I know everyone and everyone knows me. It is certain that the first race will be easier. That doesn't mean we'll get a better result, but I hope we get there. I was very satisfied with the team staff and I see no reason to go elsewhere. Obviously, we want to get better results this year as a team. »

Lotus F1 Team will therefore have its objectives revised upwards for the next season after taking fourth place in the Manufacturers' Championship. The results will logically depend on the performance of the new E21 which nevertheless resembles its older sister in its presentation version. The stability of the technical regulations before the significant changes made in 2014 contribute to this similarity and the order established last year may therefore not experience major upheavals. “It won’t be easy to improve on what we achieved last year but that remains our goal: to do even better, not only at driver level but also with the team. We will try to improve in all areas and it is clear that if we can qualify better we will have a better chance of winning races. It’s the whole package that we will try to make more competitive. »
