Kimi Räikkönen seemed more comfortable than his teammate Romain Grosjean on the Hungaroring route on which he won with McLaren in 2005, but the Finn was ultimately slower than the Frenchman at the end of Q3 where he was only able to take fifth place on the starting grid. Iceman does not hide his disappointment in view of the potential offered by his E20 even if he remains optimistic about his chances for the race despite the difficulty of overtaking on the Hungarian Tourniquet.
“We expected a little better, the car was good all weekend, but the last session of qualifying was a little more difficult”, explains the 2007 world champion who will start on the clean side of the track. “I would have preferred to start from a better place on the grid but that’s how it is. Our race pace is usually good and I don't see why it wouldn't be here. These qualifications were not perfect but I still have a good place to start tomorrow. We inevitably make life a little more difficult when we don't have good qualifications. »
