Räikkönen takes the lead at Silverstone

Once again, the rain disrupted the progress of this second day of private testing at Silverstone in Great Britain, but did not last long enough to prevent the drivers from improving their morning performances.

It is Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) who was the fastest by completing a best lap in 1'30″665 and ahead of French Esteban Ocon (Mercedes), morning reference in 1'31″212, a time which was not improved by the star driver in DTM. The latter, however, accumulated nearly 140 laps this Wednesday.

Pierre Gasly waited until the very last moments to climb to third place in 1'31″429 and precedes Nikita mazepin (Force India) and Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren) for the top 5. Valtteri Bottas place Williams FW38 in sixth position ahead of Haas by Santino Ferrucci and the Renault R.S.16 by Jolyon Palmer.

For his debut in a Toro Rosso STR11, Sergio Sette Camara completed 81 laps and set the ninth fastest time of the day, while Jordan King, who debuted with Manor, and Pascal Wehrlein, who completed the Pirelli program for 2017 tires at the wheel of a Mercedes W05 of 2014 completes today's ranking.
