Räikkönen in Red Bull's sights for 2014

Four names for a tub. If Sebastian Vettel already has a contract that goes beyond 2013 with Red Bull, the reigning three-time world champion team, rumors are rife as to the identity of his teammate for next season. Discussions largely fueled by the internal tensions encountered by the formation of Milton Keynes during the Malaysian Grand Prix. On this subject, Dietrich Mateschitz, interviewed by the German magazine Speedweek, mentioned several possible names, including that of Kimi Räikkönen. For the big boss of Red Bull, who raced the 2007 world champion in 2010 with the Citroën Junior team in WRC, the Finn would be an option. “Kimi is cool, fast, and is always a contender.”

As for Mark Webber, he will always be at home at Red Bull. Already announced his retirement before the season even started, the Australian?s future seems very uncertain, especially after the breakup that took place with Sebastian Vettel at Sepang. “If he has to retire, it will be his choice. But Mark is definitely a serious candidate for 2014”, explains the businessman. “He will always be welcome, as will a fast junior like Vergne or Ricciardo de Toro Rosso. Everything remains open, but anything else is pure speculation”, specifies Dietrich Mateschitz.
