Räikkönen disappointed after missing pole in Hungary

Kimi Räikkönen benefited from the good performances of Ferrari SF70H on the Hungaroring to secure second place on the Hungarian GP grid. The 2007 world champion failed just over a tenth behind his teammate Sebastian Vettel and did not hide his frustration while he hoped to be on pole.

“It wasn’t really good., explains Kimi Räikkönen. My start to the lap was good and my last sector wasn't too bad, but I found myself in difficulty when braking on a curb in the chicane. It was good enough for second place but it’s disappointing. I thought I could get pole pretty easily. »

“I locked the front wheels, which is not ideal, but there was nothing wrong with the car, specifies Kimi Räikkönen who had expressed his dissatisfaction with the brakes on the radio. We just always try to do better and it's a very usual discussion with the team. I lost a lot of time, but the result is still good for the team. »

Kimi Räikkönen took 6th place last year at the Hungarian GP. The Ferrari driver only won in Budapest in 2005.
