Räikkönen: Hope for podium in Abu Dhabi

Kimi Räikkönen was more successful in qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix than his teammate Romain Grosjean. If the 2011 GP2 champion only achieved the last time of Q3, Iceman did better with the fifth time which resulted in a fourth position on the grid following the penalty of Sebastian Vettel. The Finn can hope for a podium on the Yas Marina circuit, a result he has not obtained since the Belgian Grand Prix, since he will start alongside the Williams FW34 by Pastor Maldonado.

“Qualifying was good. There car wasn't fantastic this weekend but we decided not to change the settings compared to the last race (at the Indian Grand Prix)., explains Kimi Räikkönen who only took 12th place with the Team on this circuit in 2009. “We made the right choice because the circuit was ultimately favorable to the car during qualifying, the car had never been so competitive this weekend. We will give the best of ourselves. Let’s wait and see if I can get a start…”
