Räikkönen would hesitate between F1 and WRC

Will come, will not come? The possibility of seeing Kimi Räikkönen in the WRC in 2010 seemed plausible last week. Since then, we no longer hear too much about the Finn who seems to be hesitant to take the plunge, to stay in F1 at Mercedes GP or to take a sabbatical.

Räikkönen would hesitate between F1 and WRC

Since his ouster from Ferrari At the end of the season, Kimi Räikkönen's future is conditional. After having tried in vain to return home McLaren, the Finn had indicated that he wanted to take a sabbatical year. Since then, his name has been circulating to occupy the second seat of the new team Mercedes GP or to take a seat behind the wheel of a Citroën C4 WRC. What is it really?

Räikkönen has always proclaimed that he wanted to have a competitive car to fight at the front in Formula 1 otherwise he would look elsewhere. The arrival of Jenson Button alongside Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren team has greatly undermined fans' hopes of seeing Kimi in F1 in 2010.

More recently, it seemed that the Finn was studying the possibility of continuing his WRC career in the seat of a Citroën C4 WRC. By choosing this option, he would benefit from one of the best cars in the field but this time would lack the running to hope to compete in the championship.

« Kimi is fast and has no problems with driving », commented Mikko Hirvonen on the Finnish site Sportti.com. “ We WRC drivers have a lot more experience, and rallies are almost all unknown to Kimi. It?s hard to imagine that he could succeed, at least in the first season. »

So, will Räikkönen be present at the start of the first rally of the 2010 season in Sweden? As long as the Finn?s future is not decided, it is a safe bet that new rumors will not take long to emerge in the coming weeks.
