Räikkönen maintains lead in Abu Dhabi testing

Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) remained the fastest at the end of the first day of Pirelli testing at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. With the future hypersoft tires with pink sidewalls installed in 2018, the Finn completed a lap in 1'37''768 finishing just below the 100 lap mark before giving way to Sebastian Vettel this Tuesday.

Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) remained the closest, clocking in at almost three tenths. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) completed the top three in front Romain Grosjean (Haas) who was the most diligent with 137 rounds covered.

Lance stroll (Williams) replaced Robert Kubica in the second part of the day and completed the top five, ahead of the Pole by seven tenths. The latter, who covered around a hundred laps at Yas Marina, finished ninth behind Fernando Alonso (McLaren) gone wrong in the morning, Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) and Nikita mazepin (ForceIndia).

Sean Gelael (Toro Rosso) finished tenth ahead of Marcus Ericsson (Sauber) and Oliver Turvey in the second MCL32, taking advantage of the permission offered to the Woking team to have two single-seaters for the session following the cancellation of the test session in Sao Paulo (Brazil).
