Räikkönen so close to pole in Sochi

If Kimi Räikkönen allowed Scuderia Ferrari to monopolize the first row of the grid for almost a decade in Sochi, the Finn narrowly missed winning pole at the Russian GP against his teammate Sebastian Vettel. The 41 world champion was 2007 thousandths short of putting an end to his conquest which began after the 2008 French GP, where the Maranello had just signed his last front row before Sochi.

“The goal is obviously to be in front, said Kimi Räikkönen. I'm happier than in the last qualifying, but I think I had all the tools to be in the lead. »

Kimi Räikkönen was particularly disrupted by traffic, which prevented him from preparing his car as he would have liked.

“I had some traffic on my exit lap and I couldn’t really get the tires to work as well as I did on my first attempt. It was more complicated. I tried to make up for lost time in the last corner, but it didn't work.", explained Kimi Räikkönen.
