Räikkönen ends the final day in the lead

Kimi Räikkönen continued at a strong pace this afternoon for the final day of testing F1 of the week in Barcelona (Spain). The pilot of the Ferrari SF70H achieved the best time of the day by completing a lap of the Catalunya circuit in 1'20''872 with the soft tyres.

If the Finn was one of the most diligent, it is Romain Grosjean who was the most active by completing 118 laps with the Haas VF17 which finished in 4th place, behind the Red Bull RB13 Max Verstappen and Renault RS 17 by Jolyon Palmer.

Antonio Giovinazzi completes the top five in the Sauber C36 after posting his best performance on ultra-soft tires. The Swiss team's test driver preceded the Force India VJM10 of Sergio Pérez and the McLaren MCL32 from Stoffel Vandoorne.

After missing the morning due to electrical issues, Mercedes was able to catch up by sending Valtteri Bottas chain the relays aboard the W08. The Finn only finished 8th, preferring to concentrate on race simulations. Nico Hulkenberg completes the list after giving way to his teammate Jolyon Palmer.

Williams is not the only team to have missed the last day of testing of the week. Toro Rosso was only able to complete one installation lap with the STR12 this morning before encountering mechanical problems requiring the complete replacement of the Renault Power Unit. Carlos Sainz Jr was unable to drive this afternoon.

Pirelli wetted the circuit again at the break, but the sunny weather allowed the track to dry quickly.

F1 winter testing will resume on Tuesday March 7 for four new days of testing on the Catalan circuit.
