Ravetto: “Some would like to see us fall”

Caterham F1 Team is in the throes of a particularly difficult season. Between the sale of the team by Tony Fernandes, the reorganization of personnel and the lack of results, the Leafield structure seems to be on edge since the start of the year. Manfredi Ravetto, the new Team Principal who quickly replaced Christijan Albers, has the difficult task of carrying the team through after several very difficult months.

However, the new Caterham F1 Team director is doing his best to appear confident and calm even if he does not hide the difficulties his team is encountering. “Knowing that the team had to stop racing before the British Grand Prix with the previous owner, we are proud to have not only completed the European season but also the Asian season! ", commented Manfredi Ravetto. “This gives us a boost of confidence for the final three races of the season in America and the Middle East. Our performances are constantly improving and our recent results, including superb qualifying in Sochi (with a 16th place for Marcus Ericsson and 19th for Kamui Kobayashi) place the team at a level that was difficult to reach until now. »

Manfredo Ravetti responds vigorously to negative speculation about the future of the team, even if the team is on the list of teams likely to close due to financial problems. Caterham F1 Team recently had to communicate following the presence of bailiffs on its premises. “We are making progress and we continue to fight every day, even if there are some negative comments or skepticism from some people who would like to see us fall,” added the Team Principal. “We can live with that, we have no problem with it. We respond with facts, starting with technical developments on the car and stabilizing the team’s accounting. We just want to remind everyone that we are the ones facing the situation, not the ones who left the team in dire straits! I can tolerate misunderstandings but not this. »
