Red Bull accepts its fate

Starting at the head of the Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel had taken a considerable advantage for the final victory. But we will not be able to know if the German had the possibility of winning. A few turns, a driving error and Jenson Button was ahead. “ After turn 9-10, I lost control of the car, Vettel said at a press conference. Today, there was a lot of wind and it threw me off balance in certain turns. I ran over balls of rubber, which sidelined me, Jenson took advantage of it. Then I wasn't fast enough to overtake him, it was difficult to stay behind him with the aerodynamic disturbances. But I don't know if it changed much because Jenson was really fast. It was obvious that he was abandoning us. »

Finally third, after a first place on the grid, Sebastien Vettel could feel legitimate disappointment. Something that Mark Webber could not experience, starting third and ultimately ahead of his teammate at the end of the race. “ It's a good afternoon for me. In the first stint, I tried to keep in contact. I had more fuel so it was difficult and longer for me. We were aiming for the podium but we still had to perform well. »

A performance which brought Vettel into Webber's wheels with a few laps to go. But the team management advised the young German to stay in his place, which caused him some disappointment. “ We were doing similar performances, I was asked not to double him. We then reduced our engine speed to secure 2nd and 3rd places. We saved our tires but I would have preferred to attack in the last laps? » Finally, it is not certain that Sebastian Vettel has really given up.
