Red Bull and Toro Rosso with Renault in 2017-2018

If at the end of the 2015 season, the Red Bull divorce – Renault had fueled the column, before a compromise was found with a “naming” of the French Power Unit installed in the RB12 in 2016 with the arrival of TAG Heuer, the situation for the next two years is already stabilized for the formation of Milton Keynes in terms of engine supply.

Red Bull Racing and Renault confirmed this Sunday the continuation of their collaboration for the 2017-2018 period. The red bull clan will also be entirely supplied by Renault, since Toro Rosso will return to the tricolor blocks after a contested 2016 with the engine Ferrari.

“We are very happy to partner with two strong teams like Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso. Having competitive partners demonstrates the confidence these two teams have in Renault's improved powertrain and in our organization as a whole. » comments Jerome Stroll, president of Renault Sport Racing.

“We are delighted to extend our partnership which has enjoyed great success over time, underlines Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull Racing. After the reconstruction undertaken by Renault, progress was made, which made it logical to continue with the TAG Heuer engine. »

The two teams will be able to rebadge the Renault block at their convenience and will receive the latest specifications. Daniel Ricciardo experienced it this weekend in Monaco, as the Australian, author of the pole, got on board just like Kevin Magnussen at Renault, the latest developments brought by the Losange to its engine block.
