Red Bull would let Sainz go “at the right price”

Currently in their third season with Toro Rosso, Carlos Sainz and Daniil Kvyat see their future darkening before them. Indeed, Red Bull does not intend to part with Max Verstappen as well as Daniel Ricciardo in the parent company, thus blocking Sainz, under contract with the Austrian firm until 2019. A gloomy atmosphere between the two Toro Rosso teammates combined with rumors of extensions for Kvyat gives Carlos Sainz desires elsewhere.

« Sainz is under contract with Red Bull and still has two years left, explains Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull Racing. We consider it an asset, and a valuable asset. If a team wanted to buy him, or if he wanted to leave, it would have a price. »

At Silverstone, the persistent rumor that Sainz would replace Jolyon Palmer at Renault from then on, Hungary was swept aside by both parties, but still had the merit of existing and being considered serious.

“If anyone wants to make an offer, we will obviously consider it. But the price would be high since we are interested in Carlos. We're not going to let an asset go like that. »

Carlos Sainz is currently 9e of the world championship and scored points in each of the races he saw finish, even if he remains on two consecutive retirements in Austria and Great Britain.
