Red Bull can't do it anymore

Red Bull passes through an air hole. In Singapore, Sebastian Vettel was very ready to raise the performance of a team in decline, in terms of results. Indeed, Red Bull has a very weak balance sheet in the last few races, for a team currently second in the constructors' championship. During the first ten events of the season, Christian Horner's team had scored 98,5 points, or 9,85 points on average per race. During the last four Grands Prix, Red Bull has only collected 12 points, or 3 points per event.

In Singapore, the team was well placed to return to the top. Sebastian Vettel, starting in second position and overtaken at the start by Nico Rosberg, was able to regain his place after the penalty received by his compatriot. For several tens of minutes, Vettel even appeared as a credible rival for victory against Lewis Hamilton, remaining in the Briton's wheels for several laps. But the German driver then received a drive through for speeding too high in the pits.

« The start was not very good, on the dirty side of the track but the race went well until the drive through. I don?t understand what happened. I had no reason to attack up to this point. I was surprised when I heard that on the radio. » Before receiving his penalty, the German driver thought he could compete for victory. “ We knew we could pass him because he was going to stay on the track longer »

Now, when it comes to the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships, Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel have now given up almost all hopes of competing with Brawn GP. Unlike Red Bull, the team of Brackley was able to score points during each race, even when the cars were not to their advantage. Points that make the difference today.
