Red Bull Racing wants to light up Singapore

Red Bull will perhaps celebrate the second coronation of Sebastian Vettel on the streets of Singapore next weekend, the Championship leader having increased his lead after his two consecutive victories at Spa-Francorchamps and Monza. The RB7s should also have an advantage on this urban circuit requiring aerodynamic downforce, where the conditions will be difficult with the night and the heat.

Sebastian Vettel, second in last year's Grand Prix behind Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), will do what it takes to improve his position at the checkered flag. “We have had good races in Singapore in the past, particularly last year when I took 2nd place. I love this very demanding circuit, it has a lot of turns, it is very long, it is hot and the race is contested at night. Singapore therefore has many special elements. There car seems to be very competitive here and I hope to come back with a victory. »

Mark Webber, for his part, insists on the difficulty of the racing conditions that the drivers will have to face. “The night race in Singapore is grueling”, underlines the Australian. “The bumpy track and the 1500 lights illuminating the circuit make the race different from the others but it makes it exhausting. It is also the longest race of the year as it approaches the two-hour limit established by the FIA. The stifling heat and humidity also put the pilot in an uncomfortable position. »
