Renault will launch its new V6 in Monaco

Attempts F1 of Barcelona contested this week allowed Renault to validate the developments of its Power Unit. The Losange hopes to benefit from a significant performance gain after obtaining promising results during tests.

“Our race pace is improving and we had a successful test in Barcelona experiencing many mechanical and aerodynamic developments which worked well. At the same time, we explored the important update of our powertrain and we must now take advantage of everything to optimize our performance., comments Cyril Abiteboul, the general director of the French team.

“We worked on two important aspects. The first concerned the powertrain and we are happy to have lined up 227 revolutions without reliability problems. At the same time, we have made progress on handling, which is just as important. On the performance side, we are also happy with the progress made”, adds Frédéric Vasseur, competition director of Renault Sport F1 Team.

Kevin Magnussen remains the only driver to have entered the points this season with the R.S 16. The Dane occupies 14th place in the Championship with six points on the clock.
