Renault satisfied with aerodynamic developments

Team Renault used the free practice day at Silverstone (Great Britain) to debut new appendages on the R.S.20s ofEsteban Ocon et Daniel Ricciardo this Friday.

The Frenchman set the best time for the Jaunes-et-Noirs with seventh place in EL1. The Normand benefited from deflectors and a unique flat bottom in the morning, before his Australian teammate took advantage of it in the afternoon.

“It was good to test the developments and get a feel for the car on a fast track with lots of high speed corners, explains the tricolor ghost. It was also interesting to try the car in fairly tricky conditions with the heat and a fairly strong wind. »

Esteban Ocon is not entirely satisfied, however. “We’ll have to pick up the pace a bit for qualifying. We will analyze the data to be ready tomorrow when it really matters. »

The old pilot Red Bull was handicapped by a cut tire in FP2. “We showed promising signs, but we lacked a bit of consistency with my car. I was happier on some stints than others, so we have work to do in that area. As always, it's quite tight between several cars. »
