Has Renault Sport F1 found the solution on its V6?

Renault Sport F1 has it already managed to correct the situation with its 6l turbo/hybrid V1.6? After a catastrophic week in Jerez, the engine manufacturer of Viruses-Châtillon returned to the Spanish circuit with Lotus F1 Team to test solutions on the E22. The Enstone team confirmed that it was able to carry out all of the tests without encountering “big problems” whether at the chassis or engine level.

“The main objectives were to support the Lotus program with an operation and configuration of the engine block allowing system checks and basic operation of the car to be carried out”, indicates the Diamond. “The latest version of the engine was put into operation without any reliability issues, which allowed Lotus to complete the maximum number of kilometers allowed on a day of filming. The developments developed on the test bench in Viry during and after the Jerez tests were used. They include minor changes to the hardware, bug fixes to the software and improvements to the calibration. »
