We had left Charles Leclerc disappointed in the streets of Monaco. The pole sitter was unable to start the Grand Prix due to a problem with the left rear driveshaft. A complicated situation for the driver who was racing at home: “ It was difficult at the time, admitted the Monegasque this Thursday from Baku. But by Monday, I had moved on to something else.”

Finally, Sunday was saved by the 2nd position of Carlos Sainz under the checkerboard but that does not mean that Charles Leclerc was too optimistic as the Azerbaijani weekend approached: “ I think we're going to get back to reality. We will fight for 5th place, if the job is done well. We won't have the same performance in Monaco, partly because of the straight. Maybe we will find them in Singapore because the route is a bit similar. This weekend our competitors will be McLaren, Alpha Tauri and Alpine. We will find the same racing pattern as before Monaco.”

This weekend, Charles Leclerc returns to a track where he has not always shone. Although he scored his first career points in Baku in 2018 with Sauber, the representative of Team also made a big mistake, as evidenced by his accident at the Château bend during qualifying in 2019. An error which greatly helped the Ferrari driver: “ My weekends are always good here. The crash in Q2 happens, but I learned a lot of lessons from it so it's rather positive. My pace was interesting, we will try to achieve the same performance, without the accident of course.”
