Ricciardo: any performances? with a smile

He may be the next driver from the Red Bull constellation to make his F1 debut. Daniel Ricciardo, a 20-year-old Australian, has all the assets to reach the top. His best time at the end of the F1 rookie test in December proved it.

How did you experience these trials with Red Bull F1 ?
“It made me smile and feel great pride. We were able to show the competitiveness of the car and my own potential. At the end of this session, I gained a lot of confidence behind the wheel and I think the team was satisfied. We tested different settings to help me get familiar with the car. »

Is testing an F1 car so different from other single-seaters?
“Working with an F1 team is totally different. There are no longer the same benchmarks as in other disciplines. I think I adapted quite quickly. There are a lot of people within the team and everyone has their place. We spent three beautiful days together. »

What is your relationship like with the other Australian in the team, Mark Webber?
“I spoke to him on the phone as soon as the tests were over to tell them about my experience. He encourages me a lot. I hope we can share time while preparing for the new season. His experience will be an asset to me. »

It seems the nickname Disco Dan is following you? Can you tell us a little more?
?I don?t really have a nickname. Disco Dan dates back to my early days in motorsport? but I'm not a great dancer. I just like to have fun. To tell the truth, I don't really have a dance move to present. »

Winner of the Formula Renault 2.0 WEC in 2008 and the Championship F3 British last season, Daniel Ricciardo will drive a Formula Renault 3.5 from the French Tech 1 Racing team in 2010.
