This is an Aussie who has regained his appetite. Daniel Ricciardo came out of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with the points of 8th place. Above all, the Australian finished ahead of his teammate Lando Norris on a regular basis. In the hot seat for a few weeks, especially after Zak Brown's statements against him, Ricciardo seems to have regained rhythm. And that’s good for the pilot McLaren : the F1 returns to Canada this weekend after 3 years of absence. A race which is successful for him rather well and which he particularly appreciates.

“All my favorite races seem to start with M: Melbourne, Monaco, Monza and obviously, Montreal. I am delighted to return to Canada after these few years. Montreal is a great city and there's always a great atmosphere, so I'm looking forward to soaking it up and using it to push on the track, it's always fun. » Daniel Ricciardo also experienced his very first victory in F2014 on the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit in 1.. An unforgettable memory for the Australian pilot who "Hopefully we can use some of that Canadian magic to get a few extra points for the team this time around." »

The “Honey Badger” wants to continue his momentum from Baku, where he kept pace with his teammate. “It was great to get back into the points in Baku after a few difficult races. It was tough, but the hard work and determination clearly paid off. I'm going to use this momentum we have going into the second race of this double header. I'm excited. »

Norris wants to erase the memory of 2019

As for Lando Norris, the same excitement to find Montreal on the calendar. The Briton has only raced once in Canada in Formula 1, in 2019. A race which ended badly: the right rear suspension of the McLaren broke in the middle of the Grand Prix. Norris hopes for a better outcome during this new Quebec meeting. “I am very happy to return to Canada. This will be my second race there, so it will be great to get back on track in front of the Canadian fans. The 2019 race definitely didn't end the way I wanted, so I can't wait to get back on track and give it my all. I did my preparation on the simulator and I feel ready to take on the challenge in these new cars. »

The English driver insists on the importance of scoring big points for the team with Ricciardo, whileAlpine et Alfa Romeo putting pressure on for 4th place in the manufacturer standings. “It was difficult in Baku with the windy conditions, but it was important to get a double points finish for the team. We still have work to do to get back on the grid, but I am confident that we will get there (…). Let's continue to look to the future and, if all goes well, grab a few more points this weekend! »
