Ricciardo happy to have been able to play for victory

Daniel Ricciardo almost beat Nico Rosberg at the Singapore Grand Prix. The pilot Red Bull finished four tenths behind the Mercedes after having made a crazy comeback in the last laps.

The Australian carried out an aggressive strategy by stopping a third time to fit super soft tyres, forcing the race leader to attack with his worn soft tyres.

“We have been very close to victory this year on several occasions, recalled Daniel Ricciardo who remembers his missed victory in Monaco because of a bad strategy from his team. I can't be disappointed with this race. We tried something at the end of the race with the strategy. It was close, but it's already wonderful to be back on the podium. »

Daniel Ricciardo did not show the slightest sign of frustration after putting in the best possible performance.

“I'm quite satisfied because I did everything I could by having a perfect race, underlined the Red Bull driver. The only point that could have been better was the start, but Nico started very well. I wouldn't have been able to get into the lead even if I had had a perfect start. »

Daniel Ricciardo is even more satisfied than his teammate Max Verstappen finished sixth after a bad start from the Dutchman which forced him to make a comeback race.
