The “aeroscreen” of Red Bull, a visor installed in front of the pilot to protect him from possible debris, seems effective according to Daniel Ricciardo who was able to test this system during the first test session for the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi.
This security has the advantage of not disturbing the pilot's field of vision unlike the Halo of Ferrari previously tested by Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen.
“It’s pretty good in terms of visibility, peripheral vision is pretty good. The structure allows you to see the mirrors. It doesn’t get any more embarrassing than that.”, commented Daniel Ricciardo in the Sochi paddock.
“It’s a bit strange to have something in front of you when you’re not used to it. But at one point I had a Ferrari in front of me and I could always identify my bearings on the circuit. "It's positive overall." added the Australian who set the fifth fastest time in the second practice session for the Russian GP.
