Ricciardo: “Max will bounce back”

The arrival in Europe was synonymous with a renewed speed on the part of Red Bull after a sluggish start to the season. If Daniel Ricciardo is on a series of 4 consecutive podiums since Spain including a victory in Baku, Max Verstappen has experienced very different fortunes since the last Grand Prix.

« Max had two races in a row where he could fight for good places but everything didn't work out for him, admits the Australian, and I don't think it's his fault.

« Of course, he's having a difficult time with a lot of bad luck but he's driving well and I think he's aware of that. He's missed out on some potential podiums and a few points here and there, but I'm sure he'll bounce back."

Over the last four Grand Prix, Verstappen has had three retirements, including two due to mechanical failure in Montreal and Baku.

« It's frustrating and I'm sure it annoys him a lot, but he drives well, as I said before, and he knows it so I'm sure he will continue to preserve to toughen up.

“We will continue to push each other because it is important for both of us and for the team for the rest of the season."

Daniel Ricciardo moved up to 4e championship rank 29 points behind Valtteri Bottas in front of him, while Max Verstappen slipped to 5e ranked 28 points behind Kimi Räikkönen.
