Ricciardo spent his nerves…against a wall

Head down, Daniel Ricciardo doesn't seem to believe it. After being forced to leave the seat of his voiceless RB14 at the very start of the race in Austin, the Australian seemed disappointed at the trackside, having recorded another retirement this season. Worse for the future pilot Renault, Max Verstappen achieved yet another good performance by moving up from 18th place on the grid to second place on the podium behind Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari).

Returning to the Red Bull motorhome, Ricciardo seems to have run his nerves against a wall as reported by Christian Horner, Team Principal of the Red Bull team. Milton Keynes.

“He vented his frustration in his room by punching his fist through the wall, which is completely understandable, indicates the manager, cited by Reuters. I'm sure he'll talk to his future employers about it. It’s so frustrating to keep dropping out of races at the moment. »

Ricciardo described his problem as a repeat of the one that occurred in Bahrain earlier this year, when his car suddenly died. “I couldn't even communicate with anyone on the radio, it sounded like a battery failure, admits Ricciardo.

The way the race unfolded made it even harder to take as it could have been quite interesting and it was a great afternoon for Max. To be honest, there isn't much to say about it. A lot of times this year there have been things beyond my control, but I can only keep trying. What is the most unfortunate is that I only have a few more races to complete with Red Bull and I want to have even more highlights. »
