Ricciardo ready for a new feat at Spa?

Daniel Ricciardo went on vacation with a free mind after securing the second victory of his career at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Australian exceeds expectations Red Bull Racing by dominating his teammate Sebastian Vettel and appears as the best driver of the season outside Mercedes.

The new recruit from Milton Keynes is preparing to return next week to Spa-Francorchamps where he managed to get into the points last year with Toro Rosso. “Spa is a fun circuit. It’s the longest on the calendar”, declared the Australian on CNN. “We feel like we’re a little lost on it. It’s still 7km long. Some areas are surrounded by trees, which gives more the impression of riding in a forest rather than on a modern circuit. The route is very interesting, combining high speeds with more technical sectors. We're always busy and that's a good thing for the race. »

Daniel Ricciardo remains cautious about his claims to the Belgian Grand Prix, but the Red Bull driver can still hope to aim for the front if the Austrian team manages to highlight the qualities of the RB10. “The straights will unfortunately cause us to lose a little time. But the track evolves in more conventional sectors, particularly the second, which should suit us better. But we don't know if this will be enough to make up for lost time. Maybe the rain would help. »
