Ricciardo: Red Bull is no longer the master of aero

Daniel Ricciardo said that, according to him, the top teams had overtaken Red Bull in the aero sector where the team Milton Keynes knew how to make the difference during his four consecutive world titles.

“Adrian Newey (Red Bull technical director) is clearly a big name, but the top teams with Ferrari et Mercedes all have a good department in this area, commented Daniel Ricciardo on ESPN. We still have a good department, but the others have very good people. We can say that we are no longer the masters in this sector. »

Some time to catch up

If Daniel Ricciardo is aware of Red Bull Racing's ability to bounce back, he would like to emphasize that the delay over Mercedes for several seasons makes the task more complicated.

“Our capacity to grow is strong. This is where we were very successful last year, but it is a weakness to start on the wrong foot and that has unfortunately been the case since I have been on this team. We’ve been trying to catch up at the start of the year since 2014.”, added Daniel Ricciardo.

Red Bull Racing occupies 3rd place in the Manufacturers' Championship after the first two Grands Prix of the season, 29 points behind Mercedes and 28 behind Scuderia Ferrari.
