Ricciardo wins a crazy end to the race, Hamilton and Vettel off the podium

Daniel Ricciardo offered the first victory of the season to Red Bull Racing by winning the Chinese GP on the Shanghai circuit. The Australian, whose last success dates back to the Azerbaijan GP last year, easily got rid of Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) in the second part of the race to sign his sixth success in F1.

The Finn had previously taken the advantage over the pole sitter Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) by making an “undercut”. He found himself pursued by his compatriot Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) in the final laps. The 2007 world champion finally completes the podium.

Max Verstappen (Red Bull) crossed the line in fourth position, but the Dutchman received a ten-second penalty and ultimately slipped to fifth place behind Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) lacking pace in this event. The Red Bull driver was penalized for hitting Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari). The Championship leader spun and slipped to eighth position.

Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) signs for the second consecutive time a sixth place, followed by Fernando Alonso (McLaren) who was able to gain a position by overtaking the pole sitter in the last laps. The Top 10 is completed by Carlos Sainz Jr (Renault) and Kevin Magnussen (Haas) which precedes the Force India ofEsteban Ocon and Sergio Pérez.

Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren) failed in 13th place ahead of the Williams de Lance stroll and Sergey Sirotkin. Marcus Ericsson (Sauber) is 16th ahead Romain Grosjean (Haas) who had to return to the pits.

Brendon Hartley (Toro Rosso) is the only driver to have retired. The New Zealander was hit by his teammate Pierre Gasly who finished in penultimate place in front Charles Leclerc (Sauber).
