Ricciardo remains confident at Jerez testing

Daniel Ricciardo completed only 48 laps on the third day of testing in Jerez (Spain). Red Bull Racing was forced to change the Power Unit of the RB11 before resuming the session and finally finished more than two seconds behind the Sauber C34 of Felipe Nasr. “We were able to do long stints, which is quite encouraging. I am satisfied to have been able to complete stints of 10 to 15 laps, that’s always how we compare the car”, commented the Australian at the end of the session.

The Red Bull driver doesn't seem too worried by the RB11's lack of running. The Australian keeps in mind that there are still nine days of testing left with the tests planned for Barcelona (Spain). “We know we have to improve before Barcelona. We didn't expect everything to work this week, but we'll be looking to do more laps in future testing. We may only see our potential in the last session because it is still too early to realize. »

Daniel Ricciardo will give way to Daniil Kvyat for the final day of testing in Jerez. The Russian was only able to complete a handful of laps at reduced speed in the second session after damaging the RB11's front wing.
