Ricciardo to ride with Toro Rosso in 2011

Daniel Ricciardo, confirmed third Toro Rosso driver, will drive every Grand Prix Friday in 2011. Jaime Alguersuari and Sébastien Buemi are confirmed as starters.

Ricciardo to ride with Toro Rosso in 2011

Daniel Ricciardo is enjoying a great end to the season! After a breathtaking finale in Formula Renault 3.5 Series, which saw him fail against Mikhail Aleshin in the last race, the Australian continued his progression in the hierarchy Red Bull, by joining the World Champion team for the young driver tests in Abu Dhabi. Ten days after these tests, Daniel Ricciardo is confirmed as third and reserve driver of the Team Toro Rosso for the 2011 season.

Jaime Alguersuari and Sébastien Buemi are confirmed as holders but will have to give up their control alternately, every Friday. Daniel Ricciardo will indeed take the STR6 during the first free practice session of each race weekend, in place of one of the two drivers. The vice-champion of FR 3.5 Series? who will continue in 2011 in the discipline? hopes to increase his experience of F1, and pursue his dream of accessing it, before succeeding.

I have to thank Red Bull for giving me this great opportunity. My priority for 2011 is to win the Formula Renault 3.5 title but my ultimate goal is to become a full-time Formula 1 driver.
