Rio Haryanto becomes reserve driver at Manor

The tenure ofEsteban Ocon should be confirmed soon. Manor has announced that Rio Haryanto, starter in the first 12 Grands Prix of the season, will now become the team's reserve driver and that he will be replaced by a full-time driver.

“Rio has been a valuable member of our team since January when we signed him for the season, commented Dave Ryan, director of Manor Racing. His management told us that they were having difficulty honoring the conditions of the contract after the Hungarian GP. They worked tirelessly to resolve the situation and we supported them as best we could, including allowing Rio to race in Germany. »

“Unfortunately, we reached a point where we had to explore other options for the remainder of the season in the best interests of the team.”, added Dave Ryan who specified that Pascal Wehrlein's new teammate would be announced soon.
