Robert Kubica testing for Renault

Robert Kubica carried out a first private test session on the Valencia circuit (Spain) at the wheel of the 20 Lotus E2012 repainted in the current colors of Renault Sport F1 team. The Pole completed 115 laps of the track, the equivalent of one and a half Grand Prix during the day.

Kubica, engaged with Lotus for the 2011 season, had to give up F1 following a serious accident in rally in February 2011. He was then able to return to competition by winning the WRC2 title in 2014.

The Pole began a program of returning to more intense circuit competition this year with tests in GP3, in Formula E and in LMP2. He was announced as a ByKolles privateer LMP1 driver before withdrawing the day before the first weekend at Silverstone.
