Robert Kubica still cautious

Robert Kubica stood out this Friday, setting the best time in the first free practice session. It's been a long time since a Renault had not been to such a celebration but the Pole does not want to declare victory too soon. The former BMW-Sauber driver hopes to further improve his performance on Saturday.

« It was a good Friday, comments Kubica soberly. This morning, everything went well and I only encountered small balance problems. So we made set-up changes to adapt to the track, which is different from Bahrain and the circuits we used this winter. »

Although he rode more during the second session than during the first, despite the appearance of rain, Robert Kubica affirms that he wanted to take advantage of these conditions. “ The track was wet during the second session and we took the opportunity to run on intermediate tires in order to get a feeling for the car in these track conditions. »

Robert Kubica likes to work with his engineers to improve the performance of his car, there is still work to be done for the Pole to be competitive against the drivers of the best teams. “ Between now and tomorrow, we will try to improve the general balance in order to have the most competitive car possible. »
