Romain Grosjean confident before the Nürburgring

Do you like the Nürburgring?
It's a beautiful circuit with quite a few difficulties. It has a really interesting mix of corners, which means you have to stay focused throughout the entire lap. The first sector is based on mechanical grip and the first turn can be interesting at the start if some people come out too wide. This is also a good place to overtake during the race. You have to have a well-balanced car, so I think we should be pretty good.

What is your record on this circuit?
This will be a first for me in Formula 1 here. But I already ran there in F3 and in GP2. The last time was in 2011 in GP2, I made a podium and won a victory, so my recent memories on this track are certainly pleasant.

Would you have liked to drive on the old Nürburgring, the Nordschleife (the northern loop)?
It's a hell of a circuit and it must have been something to race there. (The new Nürburgring circuit, specially designed for the Grand Prix, has been open since 1984, Editor's note). I can't imagine what it would be like with current Formula 1 cars. To begin with, can you imagine the length of meetings for car settings with all these turns to decipher?! The Thursday morning walk would be truly epic too!

What do you think you will do in the next races?
We have new developments and we certainly have the means to obtain big results. The last few races have been frustrating for various reasons, so if we can have a few solid races soon we should get some decent results and score some good points.
