Romain Grosjean: “Who knows what the grid will be in 2018?”

After his Lotus period, with the blocks Renault and Mercedes, Romain Grosjean is currently aligned with a Haas VF17 of which many mechanical elements, starting with the V6 turbo/hybrid Power Unit, come from Ferrari.

A technical link between the Maranello team and Gene Haas' team which could offer opportunities for the future of the French driver, if by chance, Maurizio Arrivabene's team were to be confronted with the departure at the end of the year from one of its pilots Sebastian Vettel or Kimi Räikkönen.

Questioned at a press conference this Thursday on the subject, Romain Grosjean does not want to go further than is reasonable on a possible transfer to Ferrari. « I have an engine, a gearbox, suspensions so... I think it's early and it's not even July.

Who knows what the grid will be F1 in 2018. Valtteri is of course waiting with Mercedes, and there is the subject of Kimi: what is he going to do? Everyone has been thinking that he is going to leave Formula 1 since 2010 and here we are in 2017, he is 38 years old and he is still here to do a good job. So I do not know. If there's an opportunity, if there's a seat, I think I'm in a good position, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. »
