Romain Grosjean: “A possible podium”

Third in the last Belgian Grand Prix behind the untouchable duo Lewis Hamilton ? Nico Rosberg (Mercedes), Romain Grosjean brought smiles back to the clan Lotus, plagued by new extra-sporting problems with the Charles Pic affair (see Ah n°2026).

The training ofenstone will appear in Italy this weekend with the upcoming decision concerning its future in mind, which could well involve a buyout by Renault. Grosjean, for his part, remains focused on the sporting aspect, and advances his ambitions.

« On paper, Monza should suit us better than Spa so in theory a podium could be possible again ! Of course, we don't know how we will perform compared to our rivals until we get on track. »

On one of the fastest tracks of the year, the Lotus' top speed should work in favor of the former GP2 champion. « We're pretty good at this so far in 2015, continues the Frenchman. Then we will have to manage tire degradation.

For us it will also be difficult in the big curves like Lesmo and the Ascari chicane because with less downforce it is complicated to get good grip in the corners. It's not an obvious compromise, but I'm sure the team will make the best possible choice. »
