Rosberg aware that the hardest part remains to be done

Mercedes AMG F1 continues its domination in qualifying as the Silver Arrows have locked out the front row of the Barcelona starting grid. With a time of 1'20"718, Nico Rosberg secured his second pole in a row and will have the privilege of starting from first place which almost always benefits the winner. However, the W04s are significantly less efficient in racing even if the new hard tires from Pirelli are supposed to be more resistant. The favorite contenders remain Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen who will start behind the two single-seaters from the Brackley team.

If Nico Rosberg is obviously happy with his performance, the Mercedes driver remains cautious about his chances of a good result for tomorrow. “I optimized everything and we did everything we could to put in a good lap. I was a little surprised to be so fast today. We were thinking about the race after Bahrain, but I didn't think I would perform so well today. This result is great motivation for the team but we must remain cautious after the episode experienced in Bahrain. Everyone works very hard at the factory to improve the pace of the cars in the race. We are in a better situation here but we may still encounter problems. I have more confidence for tomorrow, but the tires will still bring difficulties. »
