Rosberg on pole ahead of Hamilton at the Spanish GP

Nico Rosberg took his first pole of the season at Spanish GP by setting a time of 1'24"681 on the Barcelona circuit. The German beat his teammate Lewis Hamilton by almost 3 tenths and finally beats his rival in the qualifying exercise.

Sebastian Vettel was closest to Mercedes even if the pilot Ferrari finished almost a second behind the benchmark. Valtteri Bottas completes the 2nd line in front of the Toro Rosso de Carlos Sainz Jr and Max Verstappen. The Faenza team is once again more efficient than Red Bull Racing since Daniel Ricciardo could only complete the top ten, two places behind his teammate Daniil Kvyat. Felipe Massa will start between the two RB11s.

Romain Grosjean missed Q3 for the first time this season. The Frenchman beat his teammate Pastor Maldonado. The Lotuses will set off in front of the McLaren de Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button. Felipe Nasr took 15th place.

Force India drivers failed to qualify for Q2 at the Spanish GP. Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Pérez failed behind the Sauber of Marcus Ericsson, only preceding the Manor of Will Stevens and Roberto Merhi.

The Spanish GP will be followed tomorrow from 14 p.m. live on AUTOhebdo.fr.
