Rosberg in search of points…and team

Nico, You are going to compete in your sixtieth Grand Prix, what do you think?

It's cool. I did not know. I had never paid attention to the number of races I competed in. It?s fantastic to already be at sixty Grand Prix. It's beautiful.

After the last Grand Prix, we heard that you were prospecting here and there for next year. Is this the case and, if so, how do you fit into the driver hierarchy?

For next year, it?s very difficult to see clearly and know which is the best team I could go to. It?s very, very difficult but, of course I'm watching because my contract ends at the end of the season. I have nothing to say at the moment, I am fully focused on this year because we really need to attack hard to score points in each race. We are capable of doing it. We scored points in the last two races; I therefore hope that we will be able to do the same during the next two events. For the moment, I am focusing on the current season.

Aren't you frustrated not to score more points in each event?

Yes, but during the last races, there was always something that was wrong. In Monaco, we should have been one place in front for example. It could have been possible. In Barcelona we also had some problems and we could have been one or two places ahead, but that's how it is.

Otherwise, I still think we have a solid foundation. It is important to continue to score points in the next races, to continue to progress in the hierarchy. I'm confident. We are going to introduce changes to this route and I think we will be able to maintain our position. We were in the top 8 in Barcelona and I think we are able to repeat this performance or even do a little better.

You have also been the fastest on numerous occasions during free practice.

Yes but that doesn't count. We run with less fuel than the others, that doesn't reflect reality. We appear faster than we really are.

But does it give a good image?

That?s not why we do it! We ride like this because it?s the best way for us to prepare for our weekend.
