Rosberg eager to start on pole

Nico Rosberg left his mark by achieving a time of 1:35:121 allowing him to win his first pole in F1 and the first of Mercedes since 1955 with Juan Manuel Fangio. The success is total for the star manufacturer with second place in Michael Schumacher who benefits from the penalty of Lewis Hamilton. The Silver Arrows, whose W-Duct proved very useful on the straights of the Chinese circuit, have an unprecedented opportunity to achieve a good result but the uncertainty on the tires remains a sword of Damocles above from the heads of the two German pilots.

“It’s such a special feeling, I can’t wait to start from first place now”, comments the pole sitter of the Chinese Grand Prix. “The track freshened up and the rear tires worked better. We changed the set-up before the last stint and I then did a perfect lap. It is certain that we will not be as fast in the race as in qualifying but we are making progress and we will do our best to improve the set-up for the race. This performance proves that we are a team moving in the right direction. We will not make huge progress all at once, it will take time, but we will get there. »
