Rosberg worried about tire degradation

After setting the best time in the two practice sessions for the Brazilian Grand Prix, Nico Rosberg can reasonably be confident for the rest of the weekend, even if his rival Lewis Hamilton is the closest with two tenths behind. The German seems to have adapted well to the new track in Sao Paulo. “I was pretty quick and that’s always nice. The new track is completely different from last year. It remains one of the most complicated circuits since it turns counterclockwise. We had a bit of understeer which can be explained by this new surface. »

The pilot Mercedes who is 24 points behind his teammate, like his competitors, noted a high degradation of the medium and soft tires. If the weather remains uncertain for the rest of the weekend, the race could involve numerous pit stops if the weather remains dry. “My tires were blistered in the second session and we will have serious problems if the temperatures stay this high. But the forecast is for cooler weather for the race and it should be safer. We collected a lot of data during the first session in conditions which should be similar to those we will have for the race. »
