Rosberg: “I was stupid”

Nico Rosberg was disappointed on Sunday after the Singapore race. Third on the starting grid, the German driver managed to overtake his compatriot, Sebastian Vettel, after lights out. Second behind Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg lost all hope of a podium during his first refueling. At the exit of the pits, the driver Williams followed the trajectory incorrectly and bit the pitlane exit line, which earned him a drive through penalty. The German was unlucky in receiving this sanction since, due to the Sutil-Heidfeld accident (see elsewhere), Rosberg saw his penalty take him to the middle of the pack.

« I was really stupid, commented Nico Rosberg in Singapore. Williams gave me a car capable of winning. I don't know if I could have beaten Lewis Hamilton but I was stupid and it cost us dearly. »

Nico Rosberg has often expressed his desire to drive a car capable of winning and the German is expected to change seats (Brawn GP) at the end of the season. This Sunday, beyond a possible first victory in Formula 1, the Williams driver also missed his first podium in 2009. This season, Rosberg finished in the points ten times in fourteen races. He was fourth twice, fifth three times, sixth twice and eighth three times.
