Rosberg: “I underestimated Sebastian’s speed”

Nico Rosberg was beaten like in Malaysia by Sebastian Vettel in qualifying for the Bahrain GP. The pilot Mercedes bowed more than a tenth behind the Ferrari, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton won pole more than half a second ahead.

While he only occupies 3rd position in the Championship, Nico Rosberg blames himself for having missed the first row of the grid at the Sakhir circuit. “My strategy was bad because I was thinking too much about the race and I underestimated Sebastian's speed », recognized the Mercedes driver. “I should have also kept my tires in Q2 for the race. »

Nico Rosberg now seems pessimistic about his chances of a good result for the race. “I'm disappointed to have been beaten by Sebastian. I could have limited the damage by being 2nd, but it’s really not ideal to start from 3rd position,” admits the German.

The start of the Bahrain GP will be given this April 19 at 17 p.m. and will be followed live on AUTOhebdo.fr.
