Rosberg: 'The speed was there' in Melbourne

If Nico Rosberg was the strongest in qualifying last year, the driver Mercedes was clearly beaten by his teammate Lewis Hamilton in qualifying for the Australian GP in Melbourne with a gap of almost six tenths between the two W06 Hybrids.

“Lewis has been in impressive form. He was always right on target”, commented Nico Rosberg at a press conference. “The speed was there for me, but I didn’t manage to take advantage of it. It wasn't a great day for me. My pace was very good in the long stints and I hope the situation will be reversed tomorrow. »

The German won this event last year despite a similar result in qualifying after taking advantage of Lewis Hamilton's retirement due to mechanical problem.
