Rosberg: “The new regulations will shake things up”

Nico Rosberg was enthusiastic ahead of the start of the 2017 season which will see the new regulations come into force. If the reigning world champion chose to end his career last year, he believes that the increase in performance of F1 will be beneficial to the discipline.

“It definitely looks impressive, confided the ambassador of Mercedes at the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland). The F1 cars will be visually stunning and fantastic to drive while being faster. The new regulations will shake things up because each team will start from the beginning. It will not be an evolution but a revolution. It will be interesting to see who performs best. »

Nico Rosberg also welcomed the takeover of F1 by Liberty Media. The American group wants to explore new areas in order to ensure the future of the discipline, particularly with digital platforms.

“We can see from the audiences that F1 remains a great sport and it deserves it, added Nico Rosberg. However, there are still things to improve. It's a good thing it's changing hands with Liberty Media even though past commanders like Bernie Ecclestone have done great things. They may even try to Americanize the discipline a little. They are good at this kind of business and I think F1 needs that. I can't wait to see what ideas they come up with and I'm sure there will be a difference. »
