Rosberg didn't expect to be so fast

Nico Rosberg finally won his first victory in F1 after 111 Grand Prix starts. The German who started on pole managed his race and his tires to take the checkered flag 20 seconds ahead of Jenson Button. The pilot Mercedes was able to finish the event with one stop less than his main rivals. The Silver Arrows seem to be less demanding with their tires, which was their main weak point until now.

The Grand Prix winner admits that he did not expect to achieve such speed in the race. “It’s an indescribable feeling, I’m very happy with this victory”, comments the Mercedes driver. “The team and I have been waiting for this success for a long time. We didn't expect to be so fast today. We thought we had a good chance of being at the front but we didn't think we would have such a pace. I thank the team who worked very hard to improve the set-up. I was struggling in the first two races with my speed but it worked this time. This weekend was perfect, it?s impressive to see how quickly we progressed. »
