Rosberg: simpler without Hamilton

Nico Rosberg secured maximum points at the Belgian Grand Prix by taking advantage of his teammate's penalties Lewis Hamilton started at the back of the grid. The German avoided the incidents that marred the event to come within nine points of his rival for the title who completed the podium behind Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull).

“I am happy to finally win on the legendary Spa circuit, declared Nico Rosberg who signed his sixth victory of the season, the 20th of his career. We had to work a lot on the settings, but the race was perfect. There car was really good today. There will only be a few days before Monza (August 4). Hamilton's penalties made my life easier, but he will be back in the fight for victory next weekend. »

Nico Rosberg, however, saw himself whistled by the Spa-Francorchamps public who massively supported Max Verstappen, 11th at the finish after clashing with the Ferrari at the beginning. “They shouldn't be sad because he is still very young and I am sure he will be back on the podium soon”, added the German.
