Rosberg wins Bahrain GP

Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) signs his fifth consecutive victory, his second of the season, by winning the Bahrain Grand Prix ahead of Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes). The German remained out of reach of his opponents and now has a 17-point lead over the reigning world champion.

Lewis Hamilton missed his start unlike his teammate and was hit by Valtteri Bottas (Williams) at the first corner of the race. The Briton was condemned to a comeback race and was unable to catch up with Kimi Räikkönen who saved the weekend for the Scuderia. Sebastian Vettel retired before the start following a broken engine on the formation lap.

Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) took fourth place while Romain Grosjean (Haas) completes the top five, securing a second top result with his new team.

Max Verstappen (Toro Rosso) finished sixth ahead of Daniil Kvyat (Red Bull) who preceded the Williams of Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas who lost ground due to poor strategies with the medium tires. The Finn received a drive through for his contact with Kimi Räikkönen.

While Jenson Button (McLaren) abandoned due to mechanical problem, the replacement of Fernando Alonso Stoffel Vandoorne completes the top ten for his first Grand Prix. The Belgian is ahead Kevin Magnussen (Renault). Also note the 13th place of Pascal Wehrlein (Manor).
