Rosberg takes back his crown

The German driver stood out from the start of this 1h30 session by setting the first reference time (1:18:486). Then he saw the tenors return to the top of the bill. Mc Laren launched the hostilities, with good times set by Kovalainen (1:16??871). The Finn would stay in front of the pack for a long time, while the other drivers struggled with this very good time. Alonso, Button, Räikkönen but above all Hamilton were trying to regain the lead. The 2008 world champion was going to achieve this, through attacks in each of the corners. In 1:16:523, Hamilton managed to climb to the top of the score table.

This was before the last half hour saw the debates accelerate. The Briton further improved his time, then was dispossessed by Massa (1:16:112), who would lower the mark by 3 thousandths on the next lap. Ferrari and Mc Laren in front, Monaco seemed to show a return to 2008 standards. But Barrichello settled everyone by going below the 1?16?? mark. before Rosberg brings out his Speedy Gonzalez clothes. The pilot Williams improved his time several times before setting the best time (1:15:446), a time that Hamilton took back by just a thousandth. But Rosberg likes practice sessions too much to let the best time slip away. The German was able to regain his throne as world champion in free practice by winning the reference time (1:15:243). From now on, it's still the same challenge for Rosberg: to confirm on Saturday during qualifying.
